THE ISLAND

Corfu is the northernmost and greenest of the Greek Islands in the Ionian sea and is known as the Emerald of the Ionian Islands with the lush green olive groves and rugged hillsides fringed by beautiful sandy beaches and shingle coves. You will discover a most enchanting place. Play golf at one of Europe’s finest golf courses, horse-ride through quiet countryside, learn the basics of dinghy sailing and water-skiing, soar over the sea on a parachute or dive under on a scuba-diving experience.

The temperature from May to September is between 18c and 30c so ideal conditions for walkers, cyclists and the sunbather/swimmer.

At night you can visit the many tavernas for a traditional Greek Evening or just relax at a bar and enjoy the friendliness of the Greeks.

CORFU TOWN

The bustling capital, Corfu town, has cosmopolitan restaurants and sophisticated shops

DASSIA

Dassia is an attractive resort on the main coastal road to the north east of Corfu with great views across the mountains of the Greek mainland and Albania. There is a good selection of eating places along the beach and within the main resort and also shops and clubs to dance the night away.

There is plenty to attract all ages during the day at the beach from watersports to boat hire and with the water being calm and flat with a gentle sloping pebble and shingle beach it is a superb place to swim for all.

COAST/BEACH

There are beautiful pebbly beaches on the North East coast, 15-30 minutes drive away and sandy beaches on the West coast, 30 minutes drive away.

The coastline is idyllic and fascinating with stunning views from the coast and mountains of Albania to the expanse of the deep blue Ionian Sea whilst sheltering rocky coves and long sandy beaches.

INLAND

The drive inland through all the unspoilt picturesque villages can be challenging but well worth the effort. To be able to experience the ‘feel’ of greek life and chat to a local while tasting the cuisine is definitely time well spent. The scenery is spectacular, heavily wooded in places and home to small vineyards and ‘colourful’ villages.
